International Human Rights Day

It always falls on December 10th every year.

The UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on 10 December 1948. It is a peace document that declared the inalienable rights that every person has. A person regardless of race, color, religion, gender, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. This is the most translated document in the world, available in more than 500 languages.

The Declaration sets universal values and a common standard of achievement for all nations. It further sets the same dignity and value of every human being. The principles enshrined in the Declaration are as important today as in 1948.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights holds the world record of Guinnes as the most translated document. Still many people do not know about their basic rights as human beings.

The aim is to draw attention to injustice and to raise the awareness of the general public about human rights. It is also a celebration and a worship of people who fight for freedom and human rights.
