Den espressa

It always falls on November 23 every year.

In 1884, a novelty was developed in Turin that changed the way of work throughout history. Espresso Day was created in honor of this invention. Over time, the device has undergone many innovations and improvements and there are also home espresso machines. From Turin, espresso spread to the whole world.

In 1878, German inventor Gustav Kessel invented the first patent for a machine that used water and steam to extract coffee separately.

In 1884, Angelo Moriondo patented a steam-powered coffee beverage machine. In 1901, Luigi Bezzera of Milan devised and patented improvements to the coffee machine. The patent was granted on 5 June 1902 and in 1903 the patent was purchased by Desiderio Pavoni. He founded the company La Pavoni and in the workshop in Milan began to machine one machine per day. In 1947, Achille Gaggia created an espresso piston machine to improve the taste (also eliminate the burnt taste) and give the espresso a stronger consistency.

Espresso is usually stronger coffee originating in Italy and is also the basis for other drinks (café latte, cappuccino, café macchiato, café mocha…).
