Honesty Day

It always falls on April 30 every year.

M. Hirsh Goldberg invented this day because April is the month of lies and because it is the anniversary of George Washinghton's inauguration on April 30, 1789. Goldberg was a former press secretary to the Governor of Maryland and writer of many novels. The feast was created in the early 1990s when writing the first draft and examining his book The Book of Lies: Fibers, Stories, Schemes, Scams, Counterfeits and Frauds that changed the course of history and affect our daily lives.

Honesty Day is a campaign for the prevention of political lies and serves to raise the awareness of lies in history. Politicians need to tell the truth and avoid lies. Honesty Day is celebrated in the United States. In Italy, the National Day of Honesty is celebrated in December on Sunday before Christmas. As in the United States, the goal is to protest against commercial manipulation and exploitation, as well as unfulfilled promises. In Australia, this day is celebrated on 23 October.

The aim is to promote honesty and direct communication in politics, consumer relations and historical education.
