International Day of the Universe
It
always falls on the first Friday of May each year. This year it falls on May
3rd.
In
1997, Lockheed Martin Corporation created this day as a one-day event. The aim
was to motivate American youth to study science and mathematics. Former
astronaut and senator John Glenn expanded the Day of the Universe on
International Day of the Universe in 2001 due to extreme popularity.
This
day is dedicated to extraordinary achievements, benefits and opportunities in
exploring and exploiting the universe. It is dedicated to spreading awareness
of the mysteries of the universe with stars.
Sound
travels from one point in the universe to the other by creating vibrations in
molecules and atoms. Because there is no air, the universe is silent. No one
can hear any sound in the universe.
NASA
has also joined several times on this day to invite young people who want to
learn something about space travel cosmonauts in their facilities at the
Johnson Space Center.
The
universe is estimated at 13.8 billion years.
The
largest asteroid recorded is 600 miles wide.
Astronaut
Scott Kelly, who spent 340 days at the International Space Station, was
short-sighted.
About
$ 12,000,000 is a NASA space suit. Most are spent on waste and oxygen systems
worn on the back.
The
aim is to support the mathematical, scientific, technological and engineering
education of young people. This is to inspire them to pursue a career in
science, especially in space. Throughout the day, events take place in schools,
museums and planetariums. Scientific organizations provide information about
historical memories.
