International Independence Day

It always falls on December 12th every year.

Neutrality is the legal situation resulting from the state's expropriation from participation in war among other states, the maintenance of the attitude of impartiality towards warriors, and recognition of this detention and impartiality by warriors.

The aim is to raise public awareness of the value of neutrality in international relations.

Due to political tension, it is important to respect the principles of sovereignty and sovereign equality of states, territorial integrity, self-determination and non-intervention in the internal affairs of any state, and to advocate and support the settlement of international disputes by peaceful means in such a way that international peace and security are not jeopardized.

A policy of neutrality contributes to strengthening peace and security in the regions concerned and at the global level. It also plays an important role in developing peaceful, friendly and mutually beneficial relations between the world's countries.

A key factor in policy neutrality is to provide conditions and build a platform for peace negotiations. It is closely intertwined and based on preventive diplomacy tools such as early warning and conflict prevention, mediation, investigative missions, negotiation, use of special envoys, informal consultation, peace-building and targeted development activities.

Preventive diplomacy is a central function of the UN and is crucial for the role of the UN Secretary-General, including UN special policy missions and the Secretary-General's role in the peace process, peacekeeping and peace building.
