International Violin Day
It always falls on
June 17 every year.
The violin is a
string string instrument with 4 strings. These are tuned in pure quintures g,
d¹, a¹, e². The forerunner of the violin is the rubeba successor to the Arab
mint, fidéla and her relative da braccio. The first violin probably originated
in Poland and in the early 16th century appeared in Italy. No violins from that
time have survived. The most famous violin was made by Antonio Stradivari in
1716. They were exhibited at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford and never played.
The most famous violin makers (Amati, Guarneri, Stradivari, Stainer) lived in
the 16th to 18th centuries. The violin made at that time by these violin makers
is still insurmountable in the beauty of the tone and still controversy why it
is so.
Violins are
important for many musical styles such as dulcimer music, tango, pop, folk
music, Roma music, to a lesser extent rock and jazz or black metal. Mostly
electric violins are used in modern styles.
This day is in
honor of Igor Fyodorovich Stravinskije, who was born on June 17, 1882 (died
April 6, 1971). He was a Russian composer, pianist and conductor. He influenced
a large number of artists and was one of the basic developments of 20th century
music. He was considered one of the most important and influential composers of
that time.
His Sacred Spring
ballet (Le Sacre du Printemps) provoked rebellion and changed the way other
composers thought about the rhythmic structure. He was also largely responsible
for the continued reputation of a music revolutionary who moved the boundaries
of musical design.
He invented a
music note linking machine, which was patented under the name Stravigor.
