Pizza Day

It always falls on February 9th every year.

Ancient Egyptians prepared simple flat cakes like today's pizza. Then it was time for the Romans to take over. At the end of the 17th century, the first pizzerias were created. In Naples, in 1889, one of the most famous pizzas was Margerita. Italian immigrants in America have pioneered the development of pizza. They first prepared it in a furnace, but then they started in the pan. The first prepared pizza dough began to be sold in 1948. The first frozen pizza was brought to the market by the Celentan brothers in 1957.

Pizza is a large circular cake of light dough and the surface is filled with tomatoes, cheese and other ingredients (depending on the type of pizza). The dough is made of water, flour, salt and yeast with a tomato base and mozzarella. You can add raw materials to your pizza according to your taste (olives, sardines, mushrooms, salami, onions, pineapples, seafood ...).
